Kate is a 6th generation Coloradan who has spent the past 15 years learning about and creating jewelry. Classes at the well known Arapahoe Community College jewelry school, as well as her peers in those classes, have pushed Kate to create new and unique rings, earrings, necklaces in silver and other metals.
Often spending summers along the coast of Maine, Kate is a natural beach comer and collector of all types of shells but, she also has collected thousands of pieces of sea glass. Sometimes it’s the usual green glass, but Kate has found clear, violet, blue and amber sea glass, too.
In the last few years, Kate has combined her love of the ocean with her interest in creating jewelry. She is one of a very few jewelers around the country who make silver rings, bracelets, pendants and earrings with sea glass as the focal point. Each is a distinct piece of the islands of Maine, glass found along the rocky coastline and transformed into a beautiful piece of wearable jewelry.
